A people who are lions in valor, and sword-edges
A people whose lions are fierce with might when warring,
in sharpness, and the pillars of mountains in forbearance.
And the mountain peaks are polished smooth by them,
والمرءُand a man غيرُnot مُخَلّدِimmortal وحديثُهand his reputation

And a man is not immortal, yet his reputation
Though man himself is transient, the story of his deeds
endures, whether praiseworthy or blameworthy.
Remains, whether they were worthy or condemned.
