The reins of the foundations of all vir-
The reins of all virtue's roots
The guiding reins of the roots of all vir-
tues are justice, understanding, generosity, and courage.
Are justice, insight, life, and peace.
-tues are justice, discernment, generosity, and valor.
فعنso from هذهthese ركبتare composed غيرهاothers besides them
فعن هذه ركبت غيرها
فمنso whoever حازهاpossesses them فهوthen he فيamong الناسthe people راسa head; a leader
فمن حازها فهو في الناس راس
From these, then, the other virtues are composed;
On them was built all else that suits;
From these alone are all others compounded,
so whoever possesses them is a leader among people.
Who holds them is the foremost of his race.
and whoever attains them is a head among mankind.
كذاlikewise الراسthe head فيهin it الأمورthe faculties التيwhich
كذا الراس فيه الأمور التي
بإحساسهاthrough their perception يكشفis dispelled الإلتباسconfusion
بإحساسها يكشف الإلتباس
Likewise, the head contains the faculties
Thus in the head are powers that see
Just as the head contains those senses
through whose perception confusion is dispelled.
The things that banish doubt and so appease.
by whose perception all confusion is unveiled.
