Do not blame me, for a glance’s head start
Blame me not that the moment has passed
Do not blame me because a fleeting glance
eluded the grasp of those of understanding [unclear final word].
Beyond grasping, by those leaden of mind,
Eluded the understanding of the wise;
يسبقoutpaces الكذبfalsehood وثبةthe leap الليثthe lion فيin الغدtomorrow
يسبق الكذب وثبة الليث في الغد
وويغلوand grows dearer (malformed spelling) النخالthe bran فوقabove اللبابthe kernels
وويغلو النخال فوق اللباب
Falsehood outpaces the lion’s leap tomorrow,
For falsehood outstrips the lion's leap at dawn
Falsehood outpaces the lion's leap at dawn,
and bran grows dearer than the kernels [opening word malformed].
And cobwebs veil the dew's sheen.
And coarse chaff is prized above the grain.
