And would anyone but a heedless fool trust women,

Can women trust any but the heedless fool,

An ignoramus courting the causes of death?

Ignorant of ruin's root and reason's rule?

And many a drinker has come to a black pool of death,

How many a pure stream, from the cup of death

Sipping it from a sweet-tasting white draught.

Sipped as sweet nectar, sparklingly fresh!
