حلفَswore الزمانُTime ليأتينَّit would surely come بمثلِهwith his equal
حلفَ الزمانُ ليأتينَّ بمثلِه
حَنَشَتwas broken (apparently intended: حَنِثَت) يمينُكَyour oath ياO زمانُTime فكفِّرِso make expiation
حَنَشَت يمينُكَ يا زمانُ فكفِّرِ
Time swore it would surely bring forth his equal.
Time has sworn to bring his like again,
Your oath is broken, O Time, so make expiation!
But your oath, oh Time, is vain!
