The white blades feed only on a haughty man's head,
Eggs are eaten only by the hunter’s head
Or a white she-camel's shank, its marrow an edifice.
Or the shanks of a red deer where antlers are built.

So they are hobbles for high-humped camels when the guest-feast begins,
Around the refuse heap at the head of the village circle flocks,
And crowns for heads on the morning of terror.
And for heads on the morning after fright, crowns.
