A graceful youth, like the sun when he appeared,

Lorded it over all with his chest and neck.

I played chess with him in seclusion,

With the right to command and be obeyed in whatever one might wish.

    ثُمَّ التقَت من بعد ذاكَ الجُنود

    I arrayed my cavalry opposite his cavalry;

Then, after that, the armies met.

So my beloved's cavalry were driven off, while

Galloping and the flutter of banners carried them away.

Then he said, "What is your decree, my lord?

For after this I shall not play again."

I said, "My decree is to attain my desires

From those buttocks and that cool mouth."

So he willingly unfastened his trousers,

And he had never given this freely before.

So I gained from him more than I desired,

And more than enough to rub the envier's nose in the dust.
