إِنَّindeed السرائرَthe secrets عَوْراتٌprivate parts وَإِنَّand indeed لهاthey have
إِنَّ السرائرَ عَوْراتٌ وَإِنَّ لها
مُهَذّباًa refined man آخذاًacting بالحزْمِwith prudence يَستُرُهاhe conceals them
مُهَذّباً آخذاً بالحزْمِ يَستُرُها
Secrets are private parts, and they have
Indeed secrets are vulnerabilities, and they have
a refined man who, acting prudently, conceals them.
A man of tact who acts prudently to veil them.
فاطوِso fold away السرائرَthe secrets فيwithin الجنبَينِthe two sides تحجنهاyou hold them back
فاطوِ السرائرَ في الجنبَينِ تحجنها
عنِfrom اللِّسانِthe tongue الَّذيthat للسَّمْعِfor hearing يَنشرهاit spreads them
عنِ اللِّسانِ الَّذي للسَّمْعِ يَنشرها
So fold secrets within your sides, keeping them back
So conceal the secrets in your heart to shield them
from the tongue that spreads them for the ear to hear.
From the tongue that spreads them out for ears to hear.
