نفوسُناour souls بالرّجاءِto hope مُمْتَسَكَهْclinging fast
نفوسُنا بالرّجاءِ مُمْتَسَكَهْ
والموتُand death للخلقfor creatures ناصبٌsetting شَرَكَهْits snare
والموتُ للخلق ناصبٌ شَرَكَهْ
Our souls cling fast to hope,
Our souls cling to hope
And death sets its snare for all creatures.
And death lays traps for all creatures
تبرمُknit together أجسامناour bodies وتنقضهاand unravel them
تبرمُ أجسامنا وتنقضها
طبائعٌnatural qualities فيin المزاجthe constitution مشتركهcombined
طبائعٌ في المزاج مشتركه
Our bodies are knit together and unraveled
Our bodies decay and fall apart
By natural qualities combined in their constitution.
Due to our shared nature
لولاwere it not for انتشاقُinhaling الهواthe air لمتّyou would die كماjust as
لولا انتشاقُ الهوا لمتّ كما
تموتُdies معwith فَقْدِthe loss of مائهاits water السمكهthe fish
تموتُ مع فَقْدِ مائها السمكه
Were it not for breathing air, you would die, just as
Without the breath of life we would die
The fish dies when deprived of its water.
Like fish lacking water
نُنْشأُwe are created anew بالبعثthrough resurrection بعدafter ميتتناour death
نُنْشأُ بالبعث بعد ميتتنا
أماdoes ... not? يُعيدُremake الزجاجَthe glass مَنthe one who سبَكهcast it
أما يُعيدُ الزجاجَ مَن سبَكه
We are created anew through resurrection after our death.
We are resurrected after death
Does not the one who cast the glass remake it?
Can broken glass be reforged?
ماhow أغفلَheedless الفيلسوفthe philosopher عنof طُرُقٍpaths
ما أغفلَ الفيلسوف عن طُرُقٍ
ليستْare not لأهلfor people of العقولreason منسلكهtraversable
ليستْ لأهل العقول منسلكه
How heedless the philosopher is of paths
No philosopher overlooks a path
That cannot be traversed by people of reason!
That cannot be tread by reasonable people
مَنwhoever سَلّمَentrusted الأمرَthe matter للإلهto God نجاwas saved
مَن سَلّمَ الأمرَ للإله نجا
ومنand whoever عداstrayed beyond القصدthe right course واقعَmet with الهلكهruin
ومن عدا القصد واقعَ الهلكه
Whoever entrusts the matter to God is saved,
Whoever submits to God is saved
And whoever strays from the right course meets ruin.
And whoever strays from the path is doomed
