My youth has fled, and my gray hair has frightened
My youth has passed and old age startles me,
the herd of oryx away from me and scattered it.
The birds of my youth have flown away.

It is as though the comb in my right hand
As if the comb in my right hand
had threads of silver drawn from it.
Is pulling out threads of pure silver.
