My father be her ransom! Girdled at the waist, she walked
By my father's eloquent tongue she walked
like a branch between the skull and the moon.
Like a branch between the helmet and the moon

Dark-lipped, she speaks through finely serrated teeth;
Her radiant face speaks of beauty
in her mouth, carnelian has been sealed over pearls.
Rubies sealed with it upon pearls

How can I forget, when the magic of her eye
How wonderful her eyes' sorcery
is life's fetter and the rein of the gaze?
Fetter of life and rein of sight
