دَعُوا عَبَرَاتي تَنْبري من شؤونها

دَعُوا عَبَرَاتي تَنْبري من شؤونها

فلن تصرفوا تَوكافَهُنّ عن الوكفِ

فلن تصرفوا تَوكافَهُنّ عن الوكفِ

Let my tears pour forth from their ducts;

Let my tears flow freely from their source

For you will not stem their streaming flow.

For you cannot divert their pouring from the eyelids

ويحملُ دمعُ العين عن قلبيَ الأسى

ويحملُ دمعُ العين عن قلبيَ الأسى

ولكنه يبدي هوايَ الذي أُخْفي

ولكنه يبدي هوايَ الذي أُخْفي

And the eye's tears carry sorrow away from my heart,

And the tears of the eyes convey the sorrow from my heart

But they reveal my love, which I conceal.

Yet they reveal my secret love I hide
