لوْ كنتِ زائرتي لَرَاعَكِ مَنظري

لوْ كنتِ زائرتي لَرَاعَكِ مَنظري

فرأيتِ بي ما يصنعُ التفريقُ

فرأيتِ بي ما يصنعُ التفريقُ

If you came to visit me, my appearance would alarm you;

If you were my guest, my appearance would startle you

then you would see in me what separation does.

So you would see in me what separation has wrought

وَلحَالَ من دمعي وحرّ تنفسي

وَلحَالَ من دمعي وحرّ تنفسي

بيني وبينكِ لجةٌ وحريقٌ

بيني وبينكِ لجةٌ وحريقٌ

And from my tears and the heat of my breath would stand

The streams of my tears and the heat of my sighs

between me and you a deep sea and a blaze.

Have stirred between you and I, a blazing turmoil
