ثقالُheavy الروادفِthe buttocks هِيفُslender الخصورِthe waists

Long-tressed, short of step,
Slender branches, short lines
Heavy-hipped, slender-waisted.
Heavy saddles, loud snorts
تُطيِّبُsweeten أفواهُهُنَّtheir mouths الحديثَspeech
تُطيِّبُ أفواهُهُنَّ الحديثَ
بحُمْرِwith red الشفاهِthe lips وَبِيضِand white الثغورِthe teeth
بحُمْرِ الشفاهِ وَبِيضِ الثغورِ
Their mouths sweeten speech
Sweet talk from rosy lips
With red lips and white teeth,
And teeth white like shells
كماas مرّpassed بالوردِover the roses والأقحوانِand the daisies
كما مرّ بالوردِ والأقحوانِ
نسيمٌa breeze مشوبٌmingled بِرَيّاwith the fragrance of العبيرِperfume
نسيمٌ مشوبٌ بِرَيّا العبيرِ
As over roses and daisies there passed
As if a breeze passed by roses and basil
A breeze suffused with perfume's fragrance.
