This is a beginning with a tale among the heights of glory,
This is a beginning for Him in the Heights there is news
recounted, so the bright stars and humankind listen to it.
It is recounted so the shooting stars and mankind listen

As though it, while it is from the essence of youth, is an example
from every region of the world comes news of him.
From every region of the world, for Him there is news

The age was not deemed fair until Hasan adorned it,
The days have not been beautiful until His beauty adorned it
and his radiant days shone among humankind.
And its splendid days shone in the lands

Were youth's season granted some of his good fortune
If the prime of His youth were to be distinguished
for a single moment, gray hair and old age would never touch it.
By a glance, old age and senility would not reach Him

If you are granted victory over a tyrant and prevail against him,
If you defeat a tyrant you will be victorious over him
your only allies are victory and triumph.
For your allies are only triumph and conquest

Your sheathed sword is feared so how would it be if
it is drawn to strike, and thick necks crumple beneath it?
It were unsheathed for striking, and the palaces collapsed

In the cub the lion's instincts lie hidden,
The cub contains the innate traits of the lion
and only fang and claw unsheathe them.
It only needs the fangs and claws to display them

in your protection lies healing for their ailments.
In your safety from its illnesses lies a cure

The people of Sfax are but a town that sent

But they defended themselves from certain death
when the cleaving Indian swords hacked them to death.
When the warships attacked and maimed them

What they were accused of doing was a necessity,
Dire need made them do what was held against them
and through necessity harm was turned aside from them.
And necessity drove harm away from them

What they came to pass was preordained
and what destiny brings to pass cannot be turned back.
And none can stop what destiny decrees

No blame lies on people for doing a kingdom good,
It is not for people when praising a kingdom
when flow and ebb contend within it.
If rivalry of extension and limitation arises within it

They pressed upon them in a crowd, while the horses kicked them;
They crowded around them and the horses stamped them
how many were broken by them, never to be mended!
So many were trampled, their wounds unhealing

No murk ever ran through the clarity of his character.
No murkiness clouded their natures’ purity

Your father's compassionate hand spread over them
Your father extended over them his palm of mercy
a far-reaching wing of its own, whose shade was cool.
From it, a widespread wing shaded their waist

Obedience to him set for them, in the ordering of affairs,
His obedience delimited their standing in command
a boundary they never left, whether coming or going.
A limit—they neither opposed nor abandoned it

And God gathered them together in their homelands,

so they were strung together in their dwellings after being scattered.
So they were threaded in song after being scattered

For justice in rule brings praise for conduct
