وكأنّما شَمسُ الظهيرة نارُهُ
وكأنّماand as though شَجَرُtrees البسيطةِthe earth عُودُهُits firewood
وكأنّما شَجَرُ البسيطةِ عُودُهُ
And as though the noonday sun were its fire,
As though the midday sun were its fire,
And as though the trees of the earth were its firewood.
And as though the trees of the plain were its fuel.
