أيا مولاي دعوة مستغيث
قدindeed التهبتhas blazed جوانحهhis breast بنارِwith fire
قد التهبت جوانحه بنارِ
O my lord—a plea from one seeking help,
O my Master, a cry for help
whose breast has caught fire.
Whose wings are aflame
أغثناcome to our aid بالرحيلby departing غداًtomorrow فإناfor indeed we
أغثنا بالرحيل غداً فإنا
منbecause of الشوقlonging المبرحagonizing فيin حصارِa siege
من الشوق المبرح في حصارِ
Come to our aid by departing tomorrow, for we
Aid us with travel tomorrow, for we
are besieged by agonizing longing.
Are besieged by fervent longing
وأبرحand most agonizing ماwhen يكونis الشوقlonging يوماًon a day
وأبرح ما يكون الشوق يوماً
إذاwhen دنتdrew near الديارthe homes منto الديارthe homes
إذا دنت الديار من الديار
And longing is most agonizing on a day
Never shall longing depart
when homes draw near to homes.
