O Badr, O full moon!
O full moon, O perfect moon
Through you the Imam's robes of honor shone.
With you the Imam's glory shone
ياO منyou who لهhave الأسماthe names العظاthe mighty (continued)
يا من له الأسما العظا
مcompletion of 'mighty' بحرمةby the sanctity of الأسماthe names العظامthe mighty
م بحرمة الأسما العظام
O you who bear the mighty names—
O you of mighty, lofty names
by the sanctity of those mighty names,
Sacred are those mighty names
هبgrant ليto me بقاcontinued life ابنson of بقيةٍBaqiyya
هب لي بقا ابن بقيةٍ
هبةًa gift تجددrenewed كلevery عامyear
هبةً تجدد كل عام
grant me the continued life of Ibn Baqiyya,
Grant me the life of Ibn Baqiya
a gift renewed every year.
A gift renewed each year
أنتyou الكريمthe generous one فهبso grant لناto us
أنت الكريم فهب لنا
هذاthis الكريمgenerous man منfrom among الكرامthe generous
هذا الكريم من الكرام
You are the generous one, so grant us
You are the Bountiful, so grant us
this generous man from among the generous.
This generous one from the noble
فلقدfor indeed علمتyou know بدعوتيfrom my prayer
فلقد علمت بدعوتي
أنيthat I علىin defense of خبزيmy bread أحاميI fight
أني على خبزي أحامي
For you know well from my prayer
For you know from my prayer
that I am defending my bread.
That for my bread I yearn
