أَسفيmy sorrow عليهِfor him ممدَّداًlying outstretched فوقَabove الخصيthe testicles
أَسفي عليهِ ممدَّداً فوقَ الخصي
شبهُlike العليلِthe ailing man فديتُهُmay I be his ransom منas نائِمِa sleeper
شبهُ العليلِ فديتُهُ من نائِمِ
My sorrow for him, lying outstretched above the testicles,
Like an ailing man—may I be his ransom, sleeper that he is!
طمعُhope الغَوانِيthe beautiful women فيin انْتِظارِawaiting قيامِهِhis rising
طمعُ الغَوانِي في انْتِظارِ قيامِهِ
طمعُhope الرَّوافضِthe Rāfiḍīs فيin انْتِظارِawaiting القائمِthe Qāʾim (the Riser)
طمعُ الرَّوافضِ في انْتِظارِ القائمِ
The beautiful women’s hope as they await his rising
Is the Rāfiḍīs’ hope as they await the Qāʾim.
