What is the plight of one who shelters in a house

when the congregational mosque is more hospitable than it?

لا يرتوي العطشان فيه ولا

لا يرتوي العطشان فيه ولا

يلحق ما يقتاته الجائع

يلحق ما يقتاته الجائع

The thirsty do not quench their thirst there, nor

do the hungry obtain anything to live on.

وسوقه كاسدةٌ بينكم

وسوقه كاسدةٌ بينكم

لا مشترٍ فيها ولا بائعُ

لا مشترٍ فيها ولا بائعُ

And his market is stagnant among you:

there is neither buyer nor seller in it.
