والليل في صورة الضرير
Morning, radiant, is like one who sees;
Dawn is like a sighted man in brightness,
And night assumes the form of the blind.
And night is in the likeness of a blind man.

يختار أعمى على بصير
Would that I knew by what judgment
So, if only I knew by what judgment
A blind man is preferred to one who sees.
A blind man is chosen over a sighted man.
