Your chin is dripping in my sword
إنindeed ابنson of معروفMa'ruf فيin محلa station
إن ابن معروف في محل
مرامهattaining it متعبٌexhausting منيعunassailable
مرامه متعبٌ منيع
Indeed, Ibn Ma'ruf occupies a station
For the son of Ma'ruf is steadfast
Whose attainment is arduous and beyond reach.
His will unyielding
فضلهfavored him اللهGod واجتباهand chose him
فضله الله واجتباه
للأمرfor the office واختارهand selected him المطيعal-Muti'
للأمر واختاره المطيع
God favored him and chose him
God has granted him virtue and chosen him
For the office, and al-Muti' selected him.
For leadership, and the obedient have elected him
هذاthis لهfor him وحدهhim alone فقلso say ليto me
هذا له وحده فقل لي
منwho أنتyou فيamong الناسpeople ياO وضيعlowly wretch
من أنت في الناس يا وضيع
This is his alone, so tell me:
This belongs to him alone, so tell me
Who are you among men, you lowly wretch?
Who are you among men, o ignoble one
