أوامِرُهُ في الحَشا تُتَّبَع
And I am smitten with a young gazelle; the sword of his glances—
My father was a sharp sword in his glances,
its commands are obeyed within my breast.
His commands in the night are followed,
وَقالواand they said مَضىhe has gone قُلتُI said فيin مهجتيmy heart
وَقالوا مَضى قُلتُ في مهجتي

وَقُلتُ اللِقا حينَ قالوا قَطع
And they said, “He has gone.” I said, “In my heart.”
And they said he passed away, I said in my inner thoughts,
And I said, “The meeting,” when they said, “He broke off.”
And I said we will meet, when they said separated.
