A wounded love whose tears from my eyes had dried
when it revealed its passion and made it plain.
When it showed its passion and made it clear

So rejoice, defender of the faith, in a sovereignty
If we sacrificed our souls it would be insignificant
surpassing its Mansur, outstripping its Marwan.
For what he brought and made clear
لوْif أتَىcame قيصَرٌCaesar لقَصّرَhe would fall short عنْهُof him
ولألْقىand would cast down كِسْرَىKisra لهُbefore him تيجانَهْhis crowns
Were Caesar to come, he would fall short of him,
And congratulations before that on an opening
and Kisra would lay his crowns before him.
Time brought near its time and moment
وهَنيئاًand congratulations بمَقْدَمِon the arrival العزِّof glory ياO مَنْone who

And joy at the arrival of glory, O you who
Do not ask about another, for Mount Victory will come
clothed glory, spreading wide its sleeves!
Following it carrying its banner
وهنيئاًand congratulations بهاon them سَوابحَswimming vessels تأتيcoming

And joy in those swimming ships as they come,
You know, and poetry most honest
between winning favor and submission.
What made the Chosen One compose his praise

The surface of the seas mirrored a face
None besides my Master, from my poems, have
where its ships find that face's eyelids.
Beauty and adornments, temptation its index

And the one among them that brought the glad tidings—
It flows with praise of you, elucidation
may God raise its standing among the galleys!

The wind learns from its charms, yet refuses
I am a servant whom your favors fed until
to let its gusts compete with its course.
Raising his worth with you and status

A blessing from you to me that Nidhami
for what it brought and made manifest.

And rejoice, before that, in a conquest
How can goodness of praise be fulfilled for you
whose time and season fate has brought near.
Through which God sends down its distinction

Ask of no other, for you shall find
May you remain, and victory at your door a riding beast
the Mount of Conquest following Shammana.
Pulling good fortune towards it its reins

You know—and poetry is the truest omen—
why the Chosen One summoned his Hassan to it.

Before my lord, from my verse, stands a maiden,
peerless in beauty and adornments, enchanting.

Her eloquence delights in praising you,
the page's horizon a rising-place for its shooting stars.

it raised his rank and standing before you.

good fortune drawing its halters toward it.
