Joy be yours in him, a newcomer from the realm of being,

For Islam has attained its aims in him.

The Lord of the Throne—glorious is His majesty—has never ceased

To show you recurring favors of His gracious handiwork.

    تراهُ بسَيْفِ اللهِ فيهمْ مجاهِدا

    From him, indeed, a brandished sword has been drawn against the foes;

You see him fighting in their midst with the sword of God.

He fells the worshippers of the cross, aided,

And builds mosques for the upright faith.

And he sends them forth as gifts among those who seek him,

So recurring rains from them flood the dwelling places.

And we, the servant-scribes, each one of us,

Strings peerless pearls from his virtues in his praise.

And they attain every goal in describing his qualities,

Whereby praise surpasses the farthest bounds.

Does the heir apparent not have radiant portents

That reassure the frightened and aid the seeker?

Does the heir apparent not have traits from you,

Whose bond in generosity brings benefit in its wake?

Harbingers of glory's shade, which they spread mild and pleasant,

And they purify the watering places for seekers of bounty.

May you remain the hope of the kings of the age,

And may you both enjoy kingship, son and father.
