فُقْتُ حُسناً وبهجةً وجمالا

فُقْتُ حُسناً وبهجةً وجمالا

وعُلوّاً إن طاوَلَ الشّهْبَ طالا

وعُلوّاً إن طاوَلَ الشّهْبَ طالا

I excelled in loveliness, splendor, and beauty,

I lost beauty, joy, and grace

and in a height that, if it vied with the stars, would overtop them.

And loftiness if the stars have set for long

تُبْصِرُ العينُ من جنابِيَ روْضاً

تُبْصِرُ العينُ من جنابِيَ روْضاً

تَخِذَتْهُ خيْلُ الجَمالِ مَجالا

تَخِذَتْهُ خيْلُ الجَمالِ مَجالا

The eye beholds in my precinct a garden,

The eye sees from my side a garden

which the steeds of beauty have made their arena.

Taken by the horses of beauty as a place to roam

فتأمّلْ منّي مكاناً مَكيناً

فتأمّلْ منّي مكاناً مَكيناً

وحِلالاً راقتْ حُلاً وخِلالا

وحِلالاً راقتْ حُلاً وخِلالا

So behold in me a firmly established place,

So look at me a solid place

and dwellings lovely in adornment and character.

And lawful, pleasing in manners and character

وبموْلَى المُلوكِ غرْباً وشرْقاً

وبموْلَى المُلوكِ غرْباً وشرْقاً

أبْهَرُ الشُّهْبَ رِفعةً ومَنالا

أبْهَرُ الشُّهْبَ رِفعةً ومَنالا

And through the lord of kings in west and east,

And in the patron of kings east and west

I dazzle the stars with my loftiness and reach.

I outshine the stars in elevation and attainment

أخذتْ حِذْرَها لديّ احْتِفاءً

أخذتْ حِذْرَها لديّ احْتِفاءً

بجنابي لمّا علَوْتُ احْتِفالا

بجنابي لمّا علَوْتُ احْتِفالا

They took heed before me, in homage

She became cautious with me out of regard

to my precinct when I rose in grandeur.

For my side when I rose to the occasion
