أحْسِنْ بهِ من قِناعٍ

راقَ العُيونَ جَمالا

How splendid a veil it is!

With a veil finer than his face

Its beauty delighted the eyes.

Whose beauty outshines all eyes,

حَوَى منَ الوجْهِ بدْراً

حَوَى منَ الوجْهِ بدْراً

فاقَ البدورَ كَمالا

فاقَ البدورَ كَمالا

It held a full moon of a face,

His cheek holds a full moon

surpassing all full moons in perfection.

That exceeds all full moons in perfection.

أبْدَى علَى كُلّ نوْعٍ

أبْدَى علَى كُلّ نوْعٍ

تهْوَى القُلوبُ اشْتِمالا

تهْوَى القُلوبُ اشْتِمالا

It displayed, of every kind

He displays over every type

that hearts desire, a full embrace.

Hearts that yearn for inclusion,

فصيّرتهُ اخْتيالاً

فصيّرتهُ اخْتيالاً

خيْلُ الجمالِ مَجالا

خيْلُ الجمالِ مَجالا

So, for proud prancing, it was made

So I made him the epitome

a field by the steeds of beauty.

Of the horses of beauty galloping.

من خالِصِ التّبْرِ جلّتْ

من خالِصِ التّبْرِ جلّتْ

صِفاتُه أنْ تُنالا

صِفاتُه أنْ تُنالا

Of pure gold it is; too exalted

From pure innocence his traits

are its qualities to be attained.

Are too sublime to attain,

شمْسُ الأصيلِ حكَتْهُ

شمْسُ الأصيلِ حكَتْهُ

لوْناً وحُسْناً وحالا

لوْناً وحُسْناً وحالا

The late-afternoon sun resembled it

The sun of the noble inscribed him

in color, beauty, and aspect.

In color, beauty, and state.

مِن ناصرِ الدّينِ يحْكي

مِن ناصرِ الدّينِ يحْكي

مَناقباً وخِلالا

مَناقباً وخِلالا

It mirrors Nasir al-Din’s

From Nasir al-Din it tells

merits and virtues.

Of virtues and fine qualities,

فالجودُ قدْ مدّ منهُ

فالجودُ قدْ مدّ منهُ

على الوُجودِ ظِلالا

على الوُجودِ ظِلالا

So generosity has spread from him

So generosity has extended from him

its shade over all existence.
