Joy be yours in her, arriving at good fortune’s bidding,
Welcome to her, obedience has brought her happiness,

بأن تُصْبِحَ الآمالُ طُرّاً مُساعِدَهْ
Is it not her due, while God guards her glory,
By God, it is her right, and God perfects her glory,
That all hopes should come to her aid,
That hopes become helping winds.
وأنand that تغْتَديshould become الشّمْسُthe sun التيwhich عمّspread everywhere نُورُهاits light

تُقِرُّ بأوْصافٍ لها غيرِ واحِدَهْ
And that the sun, whose light has spread everywhere, should come
And that the sun whose light has spread,
To acknowledge more than one of her qualities?
Confirms her descriptions, not just one.

ومِنْ حسَبٍ شادَ الكمالُ معاهِدَهْ
For her lofty station stands above the Pleiades,
For she is from a family, above fame is her status,
And hers is noble ancestry whose halls perfection has raised,
And from lineage, perfection made a pact with her.

And a father—God be praised for the source of his excellence—
And from a father, to God is his excellence attributed,
When we praise his most esteemed grandfather and his father,
When he treats people kindly, we praise him and his forefathers.

In ordered succession—how splendid they and their necklace are,
According to a system, he did good for them and their knots,
When we string its peerless pearls with praise.
If we compose praise, its ideas widespread.

So welcome to her, peerless among all creation,
So welcome to her, pride of the world, so exceptional,
Honored, she has vied in stature with every noble woman.
Glorified, she reached all glories.

And glad tidings of her—glad tidings for a mother and father,
And good news of her, good news to a mother and father,
Whose qualities bear witness through the ages to their excellence.
Through time, their merit evident.

And I am indeed a climber of mountain passes in thanking them;
And I notice their gratitude in advance,
Mine is the lead across its far-distant reaches.
I precede in its distant aims.

Yet how can I praise them and speak eloquently of them,
But with what I praise and eloquently speak of them,
Even were I to rival Quss ibn Sāʿidah?
Even if I exhausted my arm’s effort.

And I have an affection whose freshness never wears out,
And I have a love whose newness does not fade,
And since its bonds have come to reinforce one another,
Where its reasons have become allied.

And by God, I have not done justice to a brotherhood,
By God, I have not fulfilled the right of a brotherhood,
Whose love, for His sake, keeps increasing.
Whose affection in itself is increasing.

So may He reward you on my behalf, my brother, with the best He has ever given—
So may you reward me, O brother, the best reward,
God, whose gracious favors have come to reinforce one another.
A God whose kindness has allied.
