The bitten one is not one bitten by a deadly viper,
The one unhurt is not unhurt from a heated snakebite,
but one bitten by the wide eye.
But unhurt by a glance, tender, languid,

She gazed, though no drowsiness clouded her eye,
She looked, no tooth interfered with her eye,
with the gaze of a sick person overcome by slumber.
The invalid looked with the surah of fainting.
