ينسى الهوى وصفه من حل ذروته
كالأرضlike the earth يشغلis distracted عنهاfrom it منwhoever ثوىdwelt فيهاin it
كالأرض يشغل عنها من ثوى فيها
Whoever reaches love’s summit forgets how to describe it,
Whoever dwells at love’s summit forgets to describe it,
like the earth: whoever comes to rest within it is too occupied to tell of it.
just as whoever dwells on the earth is distracted from it.
