وأني وإن شاعت لديك سرائري

وأني وإن شاعت لديك سرائري

فإن الذي استودعتني غير شائع

فإن الذي استودعتني غير شائع

And as for me, though my secrets have spread in your keeping,

Though you know my inner thoughts

what you entrusted to me is not spread abroad.

What was entrusted I have not shared

أبى اللَه لي ألا الوفاء لكل من

أبى اللَه لي ألا الوفاء لكل من

رعى لي عهدي أو أضاع ودائعي

رعى لي عهدي أو أضاع ودائعي

God permits me nothing but faithfulness to anyone who

God willed that I be true to all

has honored my covenant or squandered my trusts.

Who kept faith or forgot what I confided

فكن آمناً من أن أذيع بسركم

فكن آمناً من أن أذيع بسركم

فما سرُّ أعدائي لدي بذائع

فما سرُّ أعدائي لدي بذائع

So be assured that I will not divulge your secret,

So rest assured, your secret's safe with me

for my enemies' secrets are not divulged by me.

For I betrays no man's trust

وما أنا ممدوحاً بحفظ وديعةٍ

وما أنا ممدوحاً بحفظ وديعةٍ

أقل حقوق الناس حفظ الودائع

أقل حقوق الناس حفظ الودائع

Nor am I to be praised for safeguarding a trust:

Though praised for keeping trusts

safeguarding trusts is the least of people's rights.
