If meeting increases longing,
If meeting increases longing
and parting from the one I love stirs longing,
And parting from the beloved arouses desire

then there is never a path to forgetting, however long
Then there is no path to blame

his illness worsens; when, then, will he recover?
His illness increases, so when will he recover
