أيا قلب لا تجزع من البين واصطبر

أيا قلب لا تجزع من البين واصطبر

فلست لما يقضي عليك بدافع

فلست لما يقضي عليك بدافع

O heart, do not grieve at parting, and endure patiently.

O heart be not despondent because of separation, and be patient

For you cannot ward off what He decrees against you.

For you have no power over what befalls you

توكل على الرحمان إن كنت مؤمناً

توكل على الرحمان إن كنت مؤمناً

يجرك ودعني من نحوس الطوالع

يجرك ودعني من نحوس الطوالع

Trust in the All-Merciful, if you are a believer.

Put your trust in the Merciful if you are a believer

He will protect you; and spare me talk of the ill luck of the rising stars.

He pulls you, leave me from the ill omens of fate

فكل الذي قد قدر اللَه واقعٌ

فكل الذي قد قدر اللَه واقعٌ

وما لم يقدره فليس بواقع

وما لم يقدره فليس بواقع

For all that God has decreed will come to pass.

All that Allah has decreed will come to pass

And what He has not decreed will not come to pass.

And all that He did not decree will never come to pass
