Your habit is estrangement, and mine
Your abandonment has become my habit,
is to persist in youthful passion for you.
And pining for you has become my addiction,

O you who are bent on killing me,
Oh you who lead me to my death,
because of you, I have come to this plight.
Because of you I have become afflicted with what ails me,

No—by the one who sheltered me in exile
Neither complaining nor giving shelter to my estrangement,
and soothed the heat of my affliction,
And healing the torment of my injury,

And sufficing me after times of hardship,
that subjected me to grievous torment:
Protecting me from the evil of torment.
