محلُّكyour abode بالدنياwith worldly life وبالدينِand with faith آهِلُflourishing
فعِيدٌso a festival وأَعيادٌand festivals وعامٌand a year وقابلُand the coming year
Your abode flourishes with worldly life and faith:
Your place in this world and religion is populated,
So a festival and festivals, a year and the year to come,
With festivals, years, and meetings to come,
وسعدٌand good fortune وإِقْبَالٌand prosperity ويمنٌand blessing وغبطةٌand joy
ونصرٌand victory وفتحٌand conquest عاجلٌimmediate ثُمَّthen آجلُto come
And good fortune, prosperity, blessing, and joy,
And good fortune, prosperity, auspice, and joy,
And victory and conquest, soon and then in time to come;
And victory, openings, soon and later,
وصومٌand a fast كريمٌnoble بالمَبَرَّةِwith benevolence رِاحِلٌdeparting
وفِطرٌand breaking the fast عزيزٌglorious بالمَسَرَّةِwith joy نازِلُarriving
And a noble fast, departing with benevolence,
And noble fasting with abstinence traveling,
And a glorious breaking of the fast, arriving with joy;
And precious breaking fast with delight descending,
ورَفْعُand the raising of لواءٍa banner شَدَّدَmade firm اللهُGod عَقْدَهُits knot
ليعلُوَso that ... may rise حَقٌّtruth أَوْor ليَسْفُلَso that ... may sink باِطلُfalsehood
And the raising of a banner whose knot God has made firm,
And raising a banner which God has strengthened its knot,
That truth may rise, or falsehood sink low.
So that truth prevails or falsehood becomes low,
أَلاindeed فِيin سبيلِthe cause of اللهِGod عَزْمَتُكَyour resolve الَّتِيwhich
عَلَىattesting to الدينِthe faith والإِسلامِand Islam منهاfrom it دلائلُsigns
Indeed, in God's cause is your resolve, which
Indeed, your determination for the cause of God,
Bears signs attesting to the faith and Islam.
For the religion and Islam which has evidence from it,
فقدfor indeed نَطَقَتْhave spoken بالنصرِof victory فِيهَاwithin it شواهدٌsigns
وَقَدْand indeed وَضَحَتْhave become clear للفتحof conquest منهاfrom it مَخَائِلُportents
For signs within it have spoken of victory,
For it has indicated victory through proofs in it,
And from it, portents of conquest have become clear.
And openings for conquest have become clear from it,
فأَبْشِرْso rejoice فنجمُfor the star of الدينthe faith بالسَّعْدِwith good fortune طالِعٌrising
وأَيْقِنْand be certain فنجمfor the star of الشِّرْكِpolytheism بالخزيِin disgrace آفِلُsetting
So rejoice: the star of faith rises with good fortune,
So rejoice, for the star of religion is rising with fortune,
And be certain: the star of polytheism is setting in disgrace.
And be certain that the star of polytheism is setting with disgrace,
وقدand indeed أُصحِبَhas been paired with التسديدright guidance مَاwhat أَنتyou قائلٌsaying
وَأُيِّدَand has been supported بالتوفيقِby divine favor مَاwhat أَنتَyou فاعِلُdoing
And what you say has been paired with right guidance,
And facilitation has accompanied what you say,
And what you do has been supported by divine favor;
And success has supported what you do,
وساعَدَand has aided صُنْعُthe work of اللهِGod مَاwhat أَنتyou طالبٌseeking
وَأَسْعَدَand has favored جُودُthe generosity of اللهGod مَاwhat أنتَyou سائلُasking for
And God's work has aided what you seek,
And the making of God has helped what you seek,
And God's generosity has favored what you ask for.
And the generosity of God has brought joy to what you request,
فماso ... not تَصِلُkeep ties with الأَيامُthe days منthose whom أَنتyou قاطِعٌcutting off
ولاnor تقطعcut off الأَيامُthe days منthose whom أنتyou واصلُkeeping ties with
So the days do not keep ties with those you cut off,
So the days do not cease from what you join,
Nor do the days cut off those with whom you keep ties.
And the days do not cut off from what you maintain,
وهلand has ...? خَيَّبَتْdisappointed يمناكyour right hand مَنْanyone who جاءَcame آمِلاًhoping
فيُكْذِبَthat ... should belie ربُّthe Lord of العرشthe Throne مَاwhat أَنتyou آملُhoping for
And has your right hand ever disappointed anyone who came in hope,
And has your good omen ever disappointed one who came hopeful?
That the Lord of the Throne should belie what you hope for?
So the Lord of the Throne would prove false what you hope for,
وقدand indeed أفطرhas broken its fast الإسلامُIslam والسيفwhile the sword صائِمٌfasting
وَعَلَّتْand have drunk again ظِمَاءٌthirsty ones والرماحُwhile the spears نواهلُthirsty
And Islam has broken its fast, while the sword is fasting,
For Islam has broken its fast while the sword is fasting,
And the thirsty have taken a second draught, while the spears thirst;
And thirsty throats while the spears are drinking,
فأَوْرِدْso bring to water صواديهاtheir thirsty ones فقدfor indeed طابhas become pleasant مَشرَعٌa watering place
وَقَدْand indeed حانis due مأْكُولٌfood وَقَدْand indeed حَنَّhas yearned آكِلُan eater
So bring their thirsty ones to water, for the watering place is inviting,
So let its valleys drink for its pasture has become good,
And the time for food has come, and the eater yearns.
And its food is ripe and its eater has become eager,
فماfor ... not أَنتَyou إِلَّاexcept الشمسُthe sun تطلعrises للعِدَىupon the foes
فظِلُّهُمُso their shadow حَتْماًinevitably بِنُوركin your light زائِلُvanishing
For you are but the sun, rising upon the foes,
You are nothing but the sun rising over the enemies,
So their shadow inevitably vanishes in your light.
So their shadows will inevitably disappear through your light,
كَرُمْتَyou are generous فماso ... not يَعْيَاfalters بِحَمْدِكَin praising you مُفْحَمٌone struck speechless

You are generous, so even the tongue-tied do not falter in praising you,
You were generous, so no confounded person despairs with your praise,
And you have become preeminent, so even the ignorant know your worth.
And you sufficed, so no ignorant person goes astray with your decree,
وجودُكand your generosity فِيin سلْمٍpeace وبأَسُكand your might فِيin وَغىًbattle
بُحُورٌseas طوامٍsurging مَاnot لَهُنَّfor them سواحلُshores
And your generosity in peace and your might in battle
Your generosity in peace and your might in turmoil,
Are surging seas without shores.
Are surging seas which have no coasts,
فَلاso may ... not خَذْلَforsake الرحمنُthe Most Merciful مَنْthose whom أَنتyou ناصرٌsupporting
ولاnor may نصرhelp الرحمنُthe Most Merciful منthose whom أنتyou خاذلُforsaking
So may the Most Merciful never forsake those you support,
So neither does the Merciful disappoint when you give victory,
Nor may the Most Merciful help those you forsake.
Nor does the Merciful give victory when you disappoint,
