The light of loyalty shines for you in our land.

And truth unites our company here through you.

whose sincere affection intercedes with him.

And bonds drawn onward by ancestral roots

that yearned, themselves drawn toward their own kind.

from them, nor is kinship's cloud deceptive.

Through ties that hearts called out for,

    ribs parted to receive them.

So they are the thirsty, coming down to the waters,

and they are birds crossing toward their nests.

The deserts' distances were folded away for them; contracted

was the wide expanse as they drew near to him.

by which the keeper of ties was joined and the breaker cut off.

    nor is Yaʿrub's counsel lost.

And nearness to them is your faith and obligations,

and their radiance is your sacred practices and laws.

    وإِذا تُنادِي فالنفوسُ سَوَامِعُ

    So when they renew their call, hearts become watching eyes;

and when they call, souls become listening ears.

in victory by your Dhu rulers and Tubbaʿs.

for their swords, or else necks bowed in submission.

or if you are pleased, land grants and favors.

and the two Maghribs are your protected domain and pastures.

you called upon; thus time is an obedient slave.

and humankind grew loyal—seeking refuge or submitting.

with glories from Mundhir and noble deeds

strung together in his speech, and thus spread far and wide.

and his fame has sunrises in the two Easts.

and virtues, ranks, and innate qualities,

and through them he strives toward his right hand.

his standing with Ibn Yahya is outstanding.

among those you raided, pitched battles and engagements.
