Thanks to the One who gave you what He gave you:
Thanks to the One who gave you what He gave
a Lord who humbled kings before your dominion.
A Lord who humiliated the angels for your kingdom

So He satisfied longings through your right hand, just as
So He healed the hopes with your right hand just as
He quenched your swords with your enemies' blood.
Your swords quenched from the blood of your enemies

Qualities within you, by God's justice, were apportioned
It is an honor by the justice of Allah that
among all peoples as livelihoods and destruction.
In the two worlds, livelihoods and perditions were divided

And God made wretched the fortune of whoever opposed you,
And Allah made utterly miserable whoever was hostile to you
by His doing, and blessed the fortune of whoever allied with you.
In creation, and made happiest whoever was loyal to you

O time of the Chosen One, after the world shone
the world had shone for him with the star of your favor!
Upon him with the star of your pleasure

His efforts pressed on to dig a chasm,
His efforts strove to dig a pit
so he fell into it from the heaven of your eminence.
So he fell into it from the heaven of your highness

A fire scorched him; all night he had struck its fire-stick
A fire whose flames he kept kindling
in a garden showered with your generous dew.
Engulfed him in a meadow watered by your bounty

He passed evening and morning between two robes of treachery,
Morning and evening he remained between the folds of betrayal
which stripped him of the favors you had clothed him in.
That robbed him of what you clothed him in blessings

And did the deluded man not see the fate of one who strove
Or did the deluded one not see the consequence of him who strove
to repay with ingratitude what your right hand had bestowed upon him?
In blasphemy against what your right hand offered him in bounty?

So He aided and sufficed you, and that sufficed you?

Your right hand, and ease in your facilitation?

Or a time that tired you out before it

And Allah showed you therein some of His vengeance
His wont in the death of whoever opposed you.
And His ways with whoever showed hostility to you

Say to the slain, "No blame for a slaying

You brought upon yourself in enmity to your Master."

Before it the cup of life He made you drink!

The days do not wear down a sword already drawn -
with whose two edges God shattered your mouth!
God cleaved through it with its two edges.

Your hands have presented the Muslims
