ماhow أَوْضَحَclear العُذْرَthe excuse ليfor me لوif أنهمthat they عَذَرواthey excused
ما أَوْضَحَ العُذْرَ لي لو أنهم عَذَروا
وأَجْمَلَand becoming الصَّبْرَpatience بِيfor me لوif أنهمthat they صبرواthey were patient
وأَجْمَلَ الصَّبْرَ بِي لو أنهم صبروا
How clear my excuse would be, if only they excused me!
How clear my excuse would be, if only they would excuse me,
And how becoming my patience would be, if only they were patient!
And how beautiful my patience, if only they were patient.
لكنهمbut they صَغُرُواwere too small عنfor أَزمةٍa crisis كَبُرَتْgrew great
لكنهم صَغُرُوا عن أَزمةٍ كَبُرَتْ
فماso what اعتذارِيَmy making excuses عمَّنon behalf of one who عُذْرُهُhis excuse الصِغَرُsmallness
فما اعتذارِيَ عمَّن عُذْرُهُ الصِغَرُ
But they were too small for a crisis that grew great.
But they belittled a crisis that had grown large,
So what excuse can I offer for one whose excuse is smallness?
So my excuse cannot be for those whose excuse is smallness.
