Ah, how lovely the apples' blush upon a platter,

Layered with freshly gathered blossoms, neatly arranged.

On it, eyes of oxeye blossoms have encircled the apples,

Gazing with the eyelids of the sleepless lover.

As though its apples, reddening with shyness,

Were a full moon appearing in fragments of twilight's crimson,

Ripe at the gathering of King al-Mansur,

As though nourished by his overflowing generosity.
