Will you fulfill my hopes and thus revive them,

And exchange my humiliation among people for pride,

With a glance whose generous favors demand from me

A gift to you, whose giver has taken the lead—

Jewels from the seas of knowledge, which have no

Equal in worth save your listening to them,

So that you see the noble steed in its rider's charges,

And the tender maiden in the robes of her unveiler?

Perhaps I shall tell those who have gone far from me

That my soul's wishes have been fulfilled.
