God bless the heifer of the thicket,
A speedy carriage of goodness,
yellow, full of coy charm.
Yellow, with hanging drapes,
تُريكَshe shows you عَيْنَيْthe two eyes of مَهاةٍa female oryx
تُريكَ عَيْنَيْ مَهاةٍ
مِنfrom تَحْتِbeneath قَرنَيْthe two horns of غَزالa gazelle
مِن تَحْتِ قَرنَيْ غَزال
She shows you the eyes of an oryx
Shows my doe eyes
beneath the two horns of a gazelle.
Beneath the horns of a gazelle,
قَدْindeed سُربِلَتْshe was robed بأَصيلٍin late afternoon

وَتُوِّجَتْ بِهلالِ
She has been robed in late-afternoon light
Clothed in roots
and crowned with a crescent moon.
And crowned with the crescent moon.
