وَمُنكرٍ قَتلَ شَهيدِ الهوى

وَمُنكرٍ قَتلَ شَهيدِ الهوى

وَوَجهُهُ يُنْبِئُ عَنْ حالهِ

وَوَجهُهُ يُنْبِئُ عَنْ حالهِ

And one who denies slaying love's martyr,

A denier has killed the martyr of passion

While his face reveals his state:

And his face tells of his state

اللونُ لونُ الدَّمِ مِن خَدِّه

اللونُ لونُ الدَّمِ مِن خَدِّه

والرِّيَحُ ريحُ المسكِ من خالِهِ

والرِّيَحُ ريحُ المسكِ من خالِهِ

The color is that of blood, from his cheek,

The hue is the hue of blood on his cheek

And the scent is that of musk, from his mole.

And the air is the air of musk from his mole
