Already the herald of darkness’s passing has risen to his feet.
The announcer of dawn has risen on a leg
O sipper of the cup, awaken the cupbearer.
Oh you who feel the cup, awaken the cupbearer

And a cooing bird has brought glad tidings of dawn,
And a sleeping one brought good tidings of the morning
With a dyed palm and rings about her neck.
Her palms dyed, wearing bracelets

A gray dove sings rapturously with her lute,
The willow sways singing with her branches
Hidden from it among the leaves.
Veiled from it among the leaves

And in the gardens the east wind, while there dozed
When the breeze slept in the gardens
The narcissus in the dew, had the tread of thieves.
The narcissus walks slowly in the dew
فاغتنمso make the most of العمرَlife فيin أَوائلهِits early stages
فَلَسْتَfor you do not تَدريknow أواخرَthe closing stages of الباقيwhat remains
So make the most of life in its early days,
So seize life in its early days
For you do not know how the rest will end.
For you know not the rest of what remains
