May God water al-Zubayr’s garden, and may there endure in

God watered Al Zubair's garden and the river's torrent flowed through its channels as long as the leaves sang.

So we had the blessing in his proximity like its green carpet bursting out.

فكانت لنا من نعمة في جنابه

فكانت لنا من نعمة في جنابه

كبزته الخضراء طالعها طلق

كبزته الخضراء طالعها طلق

And what a blessing was ours within its grounds—

It is the most beautiful place over any place, its shade hosted while its water gushed.

like its green robe, bright of countenance.

I wander in it feeling closeness and intention, and it rightfully deserves from me remembrance and passion.

هو الموضع الزاهي على كل موضع

أما ظله ضاف أما ماؤه دفق

It is the place that outshines every other place:

And from that quickly flowing river, its heart beats in my heart whenever I'm away from its face.

as for its shade, it is ample; as for its water, it gushes.

أهيم به في حالة القرب والنوى

أهيم به في حالة القرب والنوى

وحق له مني التذكر والعشق

وحق له مني التذكر والعشق

I am enamored of it, in nearness and in separation,

and my remembrance and passionate love are its due.

ومن ذلك النهر الخفوق فؤاده

ومن ذلك النهر الخفوق فؤاده

بقلبي ما غيبت عن وجهه خفق

بقلبي ما غيبت عن وجهه خفق

And from that river, whose heart throbs,

comes a throbbing in my heart whenever I am kept from its face.
