ولقد وصفت لعاذلي من حسنه

ولقد وصفت لعاذلي من حسنه

طرفا فود بأنّه لم يعذل

طرفا فود بأنّه لم يعذل

Indeed, I described to my reproacher, of his beauty,

I described to my reproachers the beauty of his glance,

a little—so he wished he had not reproached me.

Hoping they would stop reproaching me, but they didn't.

وعصيته فيما مضى من عهدنا

وعصيته فيما مضى من عهدنا

وأنا الذي أعصيه في المستقبل

وأنا الذي أعصيه في المستقبل

And I disobeyed him in our time gone by,

I disobeyed him in our past vows,

and I am the one who will disobey him in the future.

And I'm the one who will disobey him in the future.
