ياO أقتلmost deadly الناسpeople الحاظاin glances واطيبهمand sweetest of them
يا أقتل الناس الحاظا واطيبهم
ريقاin saliva متىwhen كانwas فيكin you الصّابbitter sap والعسلand honey
ريقا متى كان فيك الصّاب والعسل
O deadliest of people in your glances, and sweetest among them
in saliva—since when have bitter sap and honey dwelt in you?
فيon صحنthe expanse خدّكyour cheek وهوand it is الشمسthe sun طالعةrising
في صحن خدّك وهو الشمس طالعة
وردa rose يزيدكgives you more فيهin it الراحwine والخجلand bashfulness
ورد يزيدك فيه الراح والخجل
On the expanse of your cheek, which is the rising sun,
is a rose, made richer in you by wine and bashfulness.
ايمانfaith حبكlove for you فيin قلبيmy heart تمجدهglorify it
ايمان حبك في قلبي تمجده
منfrom خدكyour cheek الكتبthe scriptures اوor منfrom لحظكyour glance الرسلthe messengers
من خدك الكتب او من لحظك الرسل
The faith of loving you within my heart is glorified
by the scriptures from your cheek, or the messengers from your glance.
انif كنتyou are تجحدdeny انيthat I am عبدa slave مملكةenslavement by capture
ان كنت تجحد اني عبد مملكة
مرنيcommand me بماwith whatever شئتyou wish اتيهI will carry it out وامتثلand I will obey
مرني بما شئت اتيه وامتثل
If you deny that I am a slave taken captive,
command me to do whatever you wish: I will carry it out and obey.
لوif اطّلعتyou looked علىinto قلبيmy heart وجدتyou would find بهin it
لو اطّلعت على قلبي وجدت به
منfrom فعلthe action of عينيكyour two eyes جرحاًa wound ليسdoes not يندملheal
من فعل عينيك جرحاً ليس يندمل
If you looked into my heart, you would find within it
a wound wrought by your eyes that does not heal.
