like stars, keeping vigil around it as guards?

من كل ناشرة فرعا له شعب
عندwhen القيامstanding upright واسبالand trailing اذاwhen نكساit is inverted
عند القيام واسبال اذا نكسا
From each, an unfurled bough with branching shoots,
Each unfurling a tress with branching strands
upright when it stands, trailing when overturned.
When upright, and trailing when turned upside down.
تطغىgrows unruly اذاwhen نهنهوهاthey restrain it منby سجيتهاits innate nature
تطغى اذا نهنهوها من سجيتها
كالماءlike water انif دفعواthey press فيagainst صدرهits breast انبجساit gushes forth
كالماء ان دفعوا في صدره انبجسا
It grows defiant when they try to curb its native bent,
It flares up when they restrain it, such is its nature,
like water: if they press against its breast, it surges back.
