ليهنك عيدٌ لو تناجت سعوده

ليهنك عيدٌ لو تناجت سعوده

لما اقترحت إلا سماءك مطلعا

لما اقترحت إلا سماءك مطلعا

May a festival bring you joy! If its auspicious stars conferred,

May you have a joyous feast if you confide in Sa'udah

They would choose no rising-place but your sky.

When I proposed nothing but your sky as a refuge

فضحِّ بمنْ ماطلتُه عدَّة الردى

فضحِّ بمنْ ماطلتُه عدَّة الردى

فما اكتنّ صدر السيف إلا ليقطعا

فما اكتنّ صدر السيف إلا ليقطعا

So sacrifice the one whose promised death I have deferred;

Expose whom I deceived for so long

For the sword’s blade lay hidden only to cut.

For the sword's chest was made to nothing but cut
