قدindeed علمhe learned الأمرthe matter الذيthat ينبغيis fitting
Whoever puts into practice the secret within fate
The One who ordains what is hidden and decreed
Has learned the matter that is fitting.
Knows what must be and what's rightly achieved

فيin كلall ماwhat ينويhe intends وماand what يبتغيhe seeks
So his affair proceeds according to his judgment,
His will flows as He wills and intends
In all he intends and all he seeks.
In all He desires and seeks to conceive

أوانهits appointed time حبراًas a learned man ولمand has not يبلغattained
He seeks to hasten the matter that has not reached
Impatient for what is not yet matured
Its appointed time, as a learned man, yet he has not attained it.
Or ready, though yearned for, to be unreeved

He hurls truth against falsehood,
Truth he casts at falsehood to subdue
Crushing it for a time, yet he has not crushed it.
In time it will be stamped though not yet relieved
قدmay يفرغbring to an end الرحمنُthe All-Merciful منالناour attainment
وشأنناand our affair الدائمُenduring لمhas not يفرغended
The All-Merciful may bring our attainment to an end,
The Merciful's bounty for us may run out
Yet our enduring affair has not ended.
Yet our never-ending affair is not achieved

Who will inform me, when he has seen our right guidance,
By my attainment of what seemed prudent
In his attaining his wish—who will inform me?
In reaching it, many like me were bereaved
