اختلسنا من كراما

تِ الكيان الأبديّ

تِ الكيان الأبديّ

We snatched some of the graces

We stole from the virtues

of everlasting being,

Of eternal existence

وجينا بمقاما

وجينا بمقاما

تِ العيان الأزليّ

تِ العيان الأزليّ

and we came with the stations

And came with statuses

of beginningless vision;

Of the primordially witnessing

ورفعنا عن تكالي

ورفعنا عن تكالي

فِ الوجود العمليّ

فِ الوجود العمليّ

and we were raised above the obligations

And we rose above the costs

of practical existence,

Of functional existence

لمضاهاة استواء

لمضاهاة استواء

فوق عرشٍ فلكيّ

فوق عرشٍ فلكيّ

to mirror an enthronement

To match the leveling

above a celestial throne.

فرأينا من تعالى

فرأينا من تعالى

بالوجود الخلقيّ

بالوجود الخلقيّ

So we saw Him who is exalted

So we saw from the Exalted

in created existence,

With created existence

في لطيفٍ ملكيّ

في لطيفٍ ملكيّ

وكثيف بشريّ

وكثيف بشريّ

in a subtle, angelic form

In a subtle angelic

and a dense, human form.

And dense humanly

وسألناه بأسرا

وسألناه بأسرا

رِ المقامِ القدسيّ

رِ المقامِ القدسيّ

And we asked Him, by the secrets

And we asked Him with the secrets

of the holy station,

Of the holy status

نيل ما قد نحن نل

نيل ما قد نحن نل

ناه لبدرِ الحبشيِّ

ناه لبدرِ الحبشيِّ

for the attainment of what we ourselves had attained

To attain what we do attain

for Badr al-Habashi.
